Adrian, Mich – The Adrian College Music Department will host the 13th Annual Choral Festival for local high schools on Sunday, October 28 beginning at 3 P.M. in the Herrick Chapel on the campus of Adrian College. This event will feature performances by high school choirs from Adrian, Bedford, Clinton, Madison, Onsted and Tecumseh. The 120-voice Adrian College Choir will also perform at this event.
This year’s clinician is George Case. Mr. Case holds a masters degree in conducting from the University of Michigan and a bachelors degree in vocal performance from Boston University. He has studied conducting with Ann Howard Jones, Jerry Blackstone, Joshua Habermann, and Paul Rardin. Case is a doctoral student in choral conducting at the University of Michigan where he is artistic director of the Arts Chorale, assistant conductor of the University Musical Society Choral Union, co-conductor of the Orpheus Singers, and co-teacher for Choral and Vocal Methods classes. He has also served as assistant conductor and accompanist for the Men’s and Women’s Glee Clubs and as Opera Chorus Director for Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress.
At the choral festival, the audience will have the opportunity to hear each of the choirs perform and then watch and listen as Mr. Case works with each group on improving their performance. This event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 2:45 P.M.
