ADRIAN, MI (Sept, 22, 2014) – Adrian College announces their 2014 Homecoming “Building A Bulldog” activities. The annual event is the College’s largest gathering of alumni and friends, welcoming new and familiar faces to campus on October 3-5, 2014.
Kick off the weekend on Friday, October 3, with the Athletic Walk of Fame at 5:15 p.m. Join the campus community as they congratulate the 2014 Athletic Hall of Fame inductees. At 7:00 p.m. fun for the whole family commences as the Robinson Planetarium presents “Dinosaur Prophecy” a full dome planetarium show that takes the entire family back to an adventure when dinosaurs roamed the earth. Admission to this event is free. Then, join friends and fellow Bulldogs for a “Bulldog Skate” in Arrington Ice Arena from 7:00 – 11:00 p.m. Skate rental is $1.00 with free admission.
On Saturday, watch the Adrian Youth Hockey from 7:00 -10:30 a.m. or see the Bulldogs take on Olivet College in the Men’s Soccer match up beginning at noon at Docking Stadium. General admission is $5.00, admission for seniors and children 10 and under is $3.00.
Tailgating for reserved parking guests will take place in the Merillat parking lot from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with food vendors and other activities open to the public. The traditional ‘Kids Korner,’ petting zoo and train rides will be operating from 11:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. offering entertainment for children of all ages.
Other can’t miss events include the annual Homecoming Parade encircling campus which begins at 1:00 p.m. and the ACHA D1 Men’s Hockey Game vs Kent State at 2:30 p.m. The ACHA Women’s Hockey team competes at 7:00 p.m. vs the Hamilton Hawks.
The Bulldogs take to the field in full black and gold glory as they take on Olivet College with kick off at 5:00 p.m. Gates open at 4:00 p.m., general admission is $5.00; seniors over 60 and children under 10 is $3.00.
On Sunday, participate in the annual 5K Bulldog Run or enjoy the 11:00 a.m. worship service, hosted by AC’s Chaplain Christopher Momany with special guest speaker Rev. Michael Selleck ’73. Join the community in Herrick Chapel for a traditional service entitled, “Home or Away: How You Practice is How You Play,” also featuring the AC Women’s Ensemble led by Dr. Thomas Hodgman.
The Caine Student Center will feature campus amenities including Bulldog Beanery, The Grille @ AC & Zebi by Sodexo, and the 110 Madison Ave. salon with special Homecoming hours. Arrington Bookstore will also offer Saturday hours to purchase your Bulldog black and gold spirit gear.
