ADRIAN (February 21, 2018) — On March 9, 2018, Adrian College will host its highly anticipated Spring Concert, featuring headlining artists Jesse McCartney and Hoodie Allen. While both performers are from New York, their music reigns from two separate genres, appealing to both rap and pop fans all around the Bulldog mile.
While McCartney is best known for his hit song, Beautiful Soul, his dynamic career has allowed him to captivate hearts both on the stage and on the screen. His musical career took off with the release of his first EP, JMac, in 2003, but his initial rise to fame was ignited by his role as JR Chandler ABC’s All My Children. He continues to act on Freeform’s television sitcom, Young and Hungry, and he is set to premiere a new single on March 23rd.
Steven Adam Markowitz, more commonly known by his stage name, Hoodie Allen, is an all-American rapper who graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2010. After four months working at Google, he left the rush of the corporate world to pursue his passion for music. His first EP, featuring the song, No Interruptions, landed on the top 10 of the Billboard 200 in 2014. Hoodie just completed his tour for his most recent album, The Hype, which was released in September 2017.
Rising folk-singer and AC alumna, Amy Grace, will open the show. Accompanied by the Michigan-based, blues cover band, JTW Trio, her sound revolves around a narrative of living a life outside of the ordinary.
The Merillat Sports and Fitness Center’s doors for the 2018 Spring Concert will open to fans at 7:00 p.m., on Friday, March 9th. Tickets are free to students with an Adrian College email, $20 for high school and college students, and $25 for general admission. These tickets are available for purchase online at adriantickets.com
until 8:00 p.m. the night of the show or until sold out.
