Zonta Club of Lenawee selects Dr. Andrea Milner for Amelia Earhart Award

ADRIAN — The Zonta Club of Lenawee will be presenting Adrian College Vice President and Dean of Academic Affairs, Dr. Andrea Milner, its 2019 Amelia Earhart Award on Thursday, Feb. 28, with a reception scheduled for 6 p.m. The award program will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Adrian College’s Adrian Room.

The award is presented annually to someone who — like the late Amelia Earhart — exemplifies a pioneering spirit and excellence in her field, while also working to increase the status of women in her community.

Billie Patton, the Club member who nominated Milner, said, “Andrea loves to share her passion with her students and every young person she meets. She is especially passionate about encouraging young women to pursue their educational goals and furthering the educational and career opportunities for women in science.”

Cost for the event is $35 per person. Hors d’oeuvres, drinks and dessert will be served. Entertainment will be provided by The Cake Walkin’ Jass Band.

Registrations must be made online at ZontaofLenawee.org by Thursday, Feb. 21.
