Dr. Erin Garmyn joined the Exercise Science and Athletic Training department at Adrian College in the fall of 2017. She earned her B.S. and Ph.D. in Exercise Science from the University of Toledo. While in graduate school, she worked as a teaching assistant and conducted research in the Cardiopulmonary and Metabolism Research Laboratory.
Her research interests are primarily focused on the assessment of vascular health in individuals who are at a high risk of developing type two diabetes mellitus. She has assessed endothelial function in indviduals with a family history of the disease before and following high fat meal consumption to better understand how the disease progresses and how to prevent the negative consequences associated with unhealthy lifestyle habits from happening.
